The Sun & Ocean's Powerful Energy!

First of all, I just realized that I posted a Wordless Wednesday post on Thursday? Did anybody notice this? Where is my head? How did I think it was Wednesday? Wow, sometimes time flies.

Anyways, this week has been full of some more AMAZING health research. I spend most of my free time doing this, in case anybody wondered. I just love it. And LOVE to share it.

Most people feel the best after they have been on a Mexico vacation, or during the Summertime, or even after a long job or walk outside. We look our best after we exercise outside or after a day at the beach or again, during the Summertime. We don't get sick as much during the Summer. We feel ugly and tired during the Winter. And we definitely feel disgusting if we haven't run or walked outside in a few days. Am I wrong?

It's the sun that makes us feel this way. And the ocean, too. But when we are outside running, we cover our eyes up with sunglasses, wear sunscreen and of course running shoes. We're not connecting with the Earth, sun and ocean anymore. And this is, what I think, is causing a lot of health problems.

And what about the Vit D? I'm sure all of you all been hearing about Vit D on the news lately, right? I don't necessarily believe doctors have been suggesting the wrong amounts, I think we're all getting less and less of it from the sun and our other sources like say cow's milk or yogurt or cheese, are becoming void of most vitamins and minerals. And if what I was just saying in the above paragraph makes any sense to you, you can see why we've all been feeling like such crap lately - WE'RE DEPRIVED of Vit D.

Not only that but the sun puts off important energy {electromagnetic field} that our can help our bodies balance out the computer and phone EMFs {which is different than that of the sun}. MANY people believe this to be a key factor in the search for disease prevention.

Here are a few interesting things I would like to share with you today:

    • Sun glasses. Great for driving. And a great fashion accessory. Not to be worn all day. Our eyes need the UVA UVB sunshine for optimal brain health.
    • Sunscreen. Same idea. We need the sun. Just not hours upon hours of oiled up sun bathing. Kids, too. Stop lathering on the sunscreen. Instead, wear a shirt. Or sit in the shade if you get too hot. Sunscreens can be cancer causing, even more so than the sun. I believe that one of the reasons we are all Vit D deprived is because of over use of sunscreen. (and sun glasses)
    • Shoes. Wear them to the store and out to dinner and probably to work as well ;). But try and get some foot/earth connection throughout the day. If you can walk on the beach without shoes - even better. Our feet were/are meant to be the perfect shoe.

Anyways. Just some fun ideas and information to leave you with before you head into your weekend. Get outside this weekend & soak it all up.

Great post! People forget too often the positive effects of the sun. It's so great to have a reminder about why we need the sun. As a sun care line set to launch in next month, we're here to tell you, YES it's true...most sunscreens ARE dangerous. Our line however adheres to the EWG's (cited link) guidelines on being a truly safe non-chemical and thus non-toxic sunscreen (minerally and naturally based). The entire reason for bringing our brand to market was for the great points you mention...and because we were scared of putting all that gunk on our children..and letting it bake into their skin...and because we're sun-LOVERS! We simply couldn't go without (and don't recommend) being unprotected more often than not...especially for children who go long hours playing outside or on vacation. That intense exposure is difficult on all of us, as is our incidental exposures. LOVED to see someone else who takes a positive approach and a natural one! Love PURE Mamas!

      xoxo ~S.O.

Juli your post also reminded me of Erma Bombeck's quote on vacations: "we hit the sunny beaches where we occupy ourselves keeping the sun off our skin, the saltwater off our bodies, and the sand out of our belongings."

Thanks for the kind reply and please email if you would like added to our Press List for more details about our launch and products.

      Thanks again!

Hi Juli, I read something about this on Sarah Wilson's blog as well. My doctor did an extensive analysis of my blood and Vit D was my only deficiency, so I'm taking a liquid supplement for that. Seeing as it's winter over here and it will be for a couple more months I'm not going to get my vit D from the sun. But come spring and summer I'm going to make more of an effort to go out into the sun, the sunscreen I'll be using if I use one is Invisible Zinc....Thanx for the article...Love, Jules

Jules - thanks for pointing that out. I was NOT saying don't supplement. If anything I think EVERYBODY should. We do. My point was more just to aware of too much sunglasses and sunscreen wearing. ha. Thanks for commenting.

      Hi Juli,

I read your post today and I was so happy to read this. People are so afraid of the sun! I love it. And my husband, my little one and I try to make it out to the grass every day to go barefoot. If not everyday, then any chance we get.

So great that you're spreading the info 🙂

      peace!

Passion fruit water is yet another youth serum. As passion fruit is full of vitamin C, vitamin A, fiber, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and folate. These help your kidneys, nerves, muscles, and heart rhythm in big ways.
Your body uses Vitamins C to make blood vessels, cartilage, muscles, and collagen, which keeps skin looking young. It also helps your body heal, lowers inflammation, and protects your cells from damage. When you get enough vitamin C, it lowers your chances of getting colds and certain types of cancers. Vit A is great for eyes, immunity, and cells.
Note: did you know Passion Fruit is actually a berry? The biggest berry you’ll find.

If you’re not ready for change, you’re not rea
If you’re not ready for change, you’re not ready for change. And that’s perfectly ok.
Making healthy choices isn’t hard work. You “have time” to choose an apple over a bag of chips. Let’s be real here; you just DON’T WANT TO. And that alone is totally ok!!
Let’s not shame others choices or pressure another to change. If somebody is not happy where they’re at, or they are sick, or in pain, only then will they start examining their current routines and habits. Anger is a great catalysts for change. It often pushes people out if their comfort zones and into action.
I often hear “I don’t have time to be healthy”. But what that really means is I don’t want to change or I’m afraid of change. And I’m not ready. Change is what they’re nervous about - not the amount of time it takes to chop up vegetables.
Be kind to yourself…but be honest.
Notice what you say you desire (weightloss or more energy) and then really examine your habits. Do you make the choices a “thin” person makes? Do you make the choices a rested high energy person needs to make? This might seem obvious but it’s actually not…so often we overlook this gap. We don’t see it and then we get mad at ourselves. Punish ourselves for “failing” over and over again.
Once you start paying attention to your actions and habits and line them up with your goals - that’s when the magic happens.
Yay or nay?
