    Sucker For Succulents

I've decided to do a few modifications and makeovers here at my house. The first thing I am really wanting to redo is the landscaping. A few years back I had a gardener help me choose plants that would do well in our climate and still look really nice.

A few years later here I am still longing for my succulents. My love for succulents goes way back.

Not to mention succulents are GREAT for dry climate and save lots of water. Read why. Can can't they save your house from a fire?

My outdoor space isn't large {especially with two boys running around - it's not a yard by any means} so I don't have all that much to work with.

I've been purusing magazines and web sites to get ideas and I've found some lovely photos to share with everybody.

{both images above via Sunset which has a great article on clutter-free gardens} While searching the internet, I came across this great blog and what a sweet idea they had to use succulents as party favors.

    Then I found these wonderful homemade succulent art pieces {shown below}. Succulent Love, the owner calls her business, and what a great industry to be in {hmmmm, could it be my next venture, haha?}. Just love this girl's designs. And wow, take a look at her house {via design sponge}

Sidenote: OK, so now I just realized that the same woman that does Succulent Love is also the writer for Yes, Please {the blog I just referenced above}! This is great. I love this girl. And look at her other blog {this one I had to find on my own}, cuppielove

And have you guys seen the new gardens that you can hang on a wall like art? I'm really loving this idea. The site I like best is called Woolly Pockets.

They also make felt style vases as well as...

    lovely herb gardens.

If you don't have the money for this kinda of amazing stuff. Then there are also very cool DIY projects out there as well {via NestInStyle}. Like the one below.

I found these "string gardens" on a website which may not be practical or what you are looking for but are so very cool to look at. I may take part of the concept and incorporate it into some kind of small garden on my sun porch.

I love this post by the way...I am obsessed with succulent plants. Thanks for this eye candy.

Move over eggs. This tofu scramble is comin’ in hot! 🍳
Just 5 minutes and you’ve got breakfast. So often I get asked for breakfast ideas when transitioning to a plant based diet. This is a great egg sub and is savory and high in healthy protein.
1 cube medium hard tofu
1 tsp turmeric
Salt and pepper to taste.
1/2 Tbsp olive oil or other cooking oil
In a frying pan sauté on medium high heat for 5 minutes. Stirring often. Add garlic or onions or cheese. I added spinach to mine. 😋

Damn this combo of garlic, ginger and tahini over sautéed potatoes is 💣. I love tahini dressing because of how creamy it gets without using cashews or dairy products. I first sautéed the potatoes in vegan butter. I added a few shallots for fun. THAT’S IT. If you cut them thin enough they cook in just 5-6 minutes on medium high heat. I added raw kale to them for added fiber and minerals.
Dressing
2 cloves garlic
1/4 inch piece of fresh ginger
1 whole lemon
2-3 Tbsp sesame oil,
1 heaping Tbsp tahini
2 Tbsp water
big pinch sea salt.
blend it all together until creamy and chunk-free.
Enjoy

LISTEN 👂I wish somebody shared this wisdom with
LISTEN 👂I wish somebody shared this wisdom with me when I was younger.
I used to think perfection was actually THE goal in life. Literally that’s what I thought - be your best, do your best, be the nicest, get the best grades, look your best, date the best, eat the best, do no wrong, don’t argue, be happy and makes others happy, give give give…and if I didn’t accomplish those things I was very concerned. I wondered what was wrong with me and punish myself. I know…laughable right? But nobody told me otherwise🤷‍♀️
This is what a version of codependency looks like: perpetual state of feeling not good enough, constant state of fear or fight or flight…exhausting, defeating and eventually leads to dis-ease. A victim in almost all areas of your life: “Why is this person being awful to me, why am I sick when others are well, this isn’t fair”.
After deep healing and self exploration, I clearly see how my ways of looking at life, my own actions (people pleasing or having no boundaries), attract the abusers, users, haters, broken people; I attracted people to treat me poorly.
So, this is what is meant by “taking accountability” for your life and understanding why certain things are happening “to you”.
Not everybody is supposed to like you or agree with you or UNDERSTAND YOU. But taking it PERSONAL (becoming a victim) is your choice. Being Treated with complete disrespect is THEIR choice. Playing IN THE game of TOXICITY however is also your choice.
Freedom is attainable. Healing is attainable. Harmony and peace are attainable. It just requires radical self awareness. Today I choose to break the rules that were never there to begin with.

🍌🍌🍌As you can see I have been on a crepes binge lately! This time I’m making sweet crepes. Need to use up your overly ripe bananas? This is the recipe for you!
Batter
2 ripe bananas
1 1/2 c gf flour
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 cup water
Blend on high until batter is creamy and smooth. Pour batter onto bubbling hot greased frying pan. Make sure the batter is thinly spread. Let that cook well. Flip when ready. Flip another couple times and repeat.
Add filling of our choice. I used chocolate chips and maple syrup.
Delicious and healthy! What will you put inside your crepes?
