Highlights of Today: Milkshakes and George Nelson!

As you might already know, I'm slowly giving our home a makeover! Last month is was our patio {blog post about that coming soon} and now it's the dining and hallway areas! I just ordered the George Nelson Lantern and it finally arrived! It's going to be installed this week. We also bought a few new flatscreen TVs {costco} and once the walls are painted we'll install those, too. My latest project is the hallway/kitchen area that I painted myself. I used a chalkboard paint and we're really having fun with it! Just one wall, though!

Also, we made milkshakes today! Mmmmmmmmmm. I just love homemade, raw vegan milkshakes. Sounds kinda gross to the average person, no? But wow, it's the freshest, creamiest, icy-iest, sweetest thing ever!

The best part of the shake is the addition of the one whole vanilla bean! It gives it that fresh, gourmet taste. Forget that liquid stuff in the amber jar! The bean is the best way to fly!

    MILKSHAKE RECIPE

    2c water
    1c fresh almonds
    1 whole vanilla bean
    ¼c agave nectar
8oz container Tomberlies {or other brand} raw vanilla bean ice cream
    1 handful ice

First blend the water, vanilla bean and almonds in a blender on high until fairly smooth. Strain the mixture with a fine mesh strainer so there is no almond pulp.

Then add it back into the blender. Throw in the ice cream and ice and agave nectar. Blend again until smooth!

It's so cold and sweet and full of vanilla!

This is not an inexpensive milkshake, but it makes a special afternoon or birthday treat for somebody! Cost is about $10 and it makes 4 milkshakes {the size of the ones above}.

    You can get creative and add some banana or chocolate as well! {I'm a vanilla person}

    ----------------

    Enjoy your Saturday!

@Dina - OK, so I haven't told anybody this yet, but I'm not doing the eBook. I mean, I MIGHT, but I am going to refund everybody's money instead. It's a long story but I ACCIDENTALLY posted that eBook announcement. I created the post as a draft but somehow it saved as "published". I didn't know this until I saw all these paypal purchases in my email box! So, then I panicked! But I figured hey, it will be fire under my bum that I have needed!

But I guess it wasn't. I have put so much time into this book but it's not finished. I hate to make people wait! So I am going to use the recipes on my blog starting next week INSTEAD of the eRecipe Book!

I hope everybody's not sad, but hey, at least now the recipes are FREE! 😉

Thanks for all of you comments. I am going to email everybody this week!
Maybe next year when I have more time, I will create another one!

I am so sad to hear that!! I was really looking forward to your recipes and advice! I feel that I can relate to you and your lifestyle being that I eat raw and have young children...etc. I appreciate you being so honest about this. Often I feel like I wish I had more time to do about half of what I would like to do..I will still look forward to your recipes that you post and just know that I really enjoy them and I do actually make most of them!! Thanks for being so inspirational.

@Dina - that MADE my day. I felt like a total failure today because I LOST my video camera full of SOO MANY videos of my sons and their huge birthday bash! I honestly feel like the worst mom! I want to cry.

Your comments helped perk me up! Thanks so much...glad you like my recipes. I have a few raw and non-raw ones that I want to share ASAP from the eRecipe book. Glad to know you like the advice as well, that's helpful, because my book had a lot of that stuff too, on top of the recipes. OK, I will try and get a recipe book out soon - like next year. But until then, I will refund money 😉

      Take care!

Passion fruit water is yet another youth serum. As passion fruit is full of vitamin C, vitamin A, fiber, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and folate. These help your kidneys, nerves, muscles, and heart rhythm in big ways.
Your body uses Vitamins C to make blood vessels, cartilage, muscles, and collagen, which keeps skin looking young. It also helps your body heal, lowers inflammation, and protects your cells from damage. When you get enough vitamin C, it lowers your chances of getting colds and certain types of cancers. Vit A is great for eyes, immunity, and cells.
Note: did you know Passion Fruit is actually a berry? The biggest berry you’ll find.

If you’re not ready for change, you’re not rea
If you’re not ready for change, you’re not ready for change. And that’s perfectly ok.
Making healthy choices isn’t hard work. You “have time” to choose an apple over a bag of chips. Let’s be real here; you just DON’T WANT TO. And that alone is totally ok!!
Let’s not shame others choices or pressure another to change. If somebody is not happy where they’re at, or they are sick, or in pain, only then will they start examining their current routines and habits. Anger is a great catalysts for change. It often pushes people out if their comfort zones and into action.
I often hear “I don’t have time to be healthy”. But what that really means is I don’t want to change or I’m afraid of change. And I’m not ready. Change is what they’re nervous about - not the amount of time it takes to chop up vegetables.
Be kind to yourself…but be honest.
Notice what you say you desire (weightloss or more energy) and then really examine your habits. Do you make the choices a “thin” person makes? Do you make the choices a rested high energy person needs to make? This might seem obvious but it’s actually not…so often we overlook this gap. We don’t see it and then we get mad at ourselves. Punish ourselves for “failing” over and over again.
Once you start paying attention to your actions and habits and line them up with your goals - that’s when the magic happens.
Yay or nay?
