We've been hearing so much lately -- from Giselle's "breast-feeding should be law" comment to Selma Hayek breastfeeding an African baby to mom bloggers outrage to working moms frustration and so on -- about breast feeding and the importance of it. But it's been quite the internet topic these days and a few womens' views in particular have become subject of scrutiny, gossip and controversy.
So in light of all that fun talk I decided to pull out my good old Homemade Baby Formula recipe again! It's a GREAT solution to the problem. No? I wrote about this a few years back and thought today would be a good time to pull it out. You decide!
Recipe:
4 oz Goats Milk
2 oz Carrot Juice
2 oz Water
a few drops Flax Oil (EFAs) with DHA

I really wish women would stop judging other women as if they know anything about those that they are judging. What life they've walked. Experiences they've had or nightmare's they've endured. People that make blanket statements like "breast-feeding should be law" or "people who don't vaccinate their kids are parasites" (I think that's the quote - Amanda Peete) are blindly righteous and lack compassion. It's a woman's personal decision as to whether she breast feeds or not. It's not black and white and there are so many variables that go into the final decision a woman makes. Some women simply cannot breast feed even if they want to. They have done numerous studies on this topic and the end result is that breastfeeding is the best option, but not the only option to bring up a healthy child.
That being said, this recipe is great, but what if your baby is allergic to dairy as mine was from birth?? 🙂

@Jamie - i know, it's very annoying when all these women make these bold statements like they do.
but again, it's nice to have an opinion and hear those of others - it's what makes this world go round. no?
There is another recipe that I have that can be made using buckwheat. I haven't gotten it approved by a pediatrician though.
Also, goats milk, as I explained in the post a little bit, is easier to digest. Often when babies are allergic to dairy they aren't allergic to GOATS MILK!
