Jennifer Laz & The Wonderful Carrot Coconut Facial

I'd like you all to meet my esthetician, Jennifer Laz. She is so smart and creative and looks at everything from a very holistic standpoint, which I love.

My latest treatment was what Jennifer called the Carrot Coconut Facial because it included her special Carrot, Coconut Vitamin mask. When I go visit Jennifer it's always interesting because we talk health, beauty products, buildup, chemicals, inner health, and so on. Jenn is such a wealth of wonderful information.

Of course when I asked her who makes this particular "organic natural" mask, she replied "I did!". So without hesitation I MADE her send the recipe and share it with PUREmamas readers. Ha. Thanks Jenn, you are the sweetest.

In fact, if you mention PUREmamas, you'll receive a 10% discount on your next treatment. Book an appointment today. And for more of her great recipes and info, follow her on facebook.

Fun fact: raw ingredients {not heated or altered the way most store bought products are} are great on the skin because of the active enzymes. Enzymes are great not only internally but externally as well {I learned this from Jenn}.

    Coconut Carrot Vitamin Mask

Carrots are a great source of beta carotene, a natural antioxidant, which both strengthens and protects
the skin. Raw organic honey contains B Complex and natural enzymes to soften and brighten. Coconut
helps moisturize dehydrated skin and is a wonderful source of natural minerals. The Carrot Coconut
Vitamin Mask leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and completely nourished. This mask is especially
    beneficial for dry skin.

    RECIPE

    Ingredients

1 organic young Thai coconut *there will be leftover coconut to use in your smoothies!
    1 teaspoon organic coconut oil
    1 medium organic carrot
    1 teaspoon raw organic honey

    Directions

    - Open coconut and remove water and meat from inside – set aside 1 teaspoon of coconut water and 1
    small piece of coconut meat.
    - Juice carrot and combine pulp with half the amount of juice.
    - Place carrot, coconut, honey, and coconut oil in food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
    - Apply 2 teaspoons of mask to clean, damp skin.
    - Allow mask to dry (about 15 minutes).
    - Remove mask with warm water rinse.
    - Apply moisturizer or serum of choice.

This recipe makes about 2-3 mask applications. Store remainder in a clear glass container and it will
last about 3-4 days in the refrigerator.

*Mask may need to be stirred before each use.

    The quickie 2 minute version:

    1 teaspoon organic carrot juice
    1 teaspoon raw organic honey
    1 teaspoon organic coconut oil

Combine all ingredients in small bowl and massage into clean, damp skin.

    That's it. Good luck.

Move over eggs. This tofu scramble is comin’ in hot! 🍳
Just 5 minutes and you’ve got breakfast. So often I get asked for breakfast ideas when transitioning to a plant based diet. This is a great egg sub and is savory and high in healthy protein.
1 cube medium hard tofu
1 tsp turmeric
Salt and pepper to taste.
1/2 Tbsp olive oil or other cooking oil
In a frying pan sauté on medium high heat for 5 minutes. Stirring often. Add garlic or onions or cheese. I added spinach to mine. 😋

Damn this combo of garlic, ginger and tahini over sautéed potatoes is 💣. I love tahini dressing because of how creamy it gets without using cashews or dairy products. I first sautéed the potatoes in vegan butter. I added a few shallots for fun. THAT’S IT. If you cut them thin enough they cook in just 5-6 minutes on medium high heat. I added raw kale to them for added fiber and minerals.
Dressing
2 cloves garlic
1/4 inch piece of fresh ginger
1 whole lemon
2-3 Tbsp sesame oil,
1 heaping Tbsp tahini
2 Tbsp water
big pinch sea salt.
blend it all together until creamy and chunk-free.
Enjoy
