    Meredith's Vitamin Juice

    Multi-Vitamin Juice

This is my go to juice. When in doubt... Throw it all in! The taste is delicious and the combination of fruits, green vegetables, beets, citrus and ginger is a solid combination of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. I usually have this (or a variation) with guacamole for lunch almost every day. I'm all about healthy fats and antioxidants. Mega beauty food, and this drink totally has it.

The best thing you can do for yourself is get hooked on juice. Once you start juicing it is really hard to imagine a day without.

Plus, I'm really partial to the color of beet juice. It makes me happy!

    Makes approximately 30 ounces
    Serves 2

    1 Large Head of Kale
    1 Large Head of Celery
    1 Large Head of Parsley
    1 Red Beet, peeled
1 Apple (optional, if you are trying for lower sugar)
1 Lemon (don't remove all the skin!)
2 Limes (Don't remove any skin)
    2 Inch Chunk of Ginger
1 Inch Chunk of Fresh Turmeric (optional)

Run all ingredients through the juicer and Serve.

Side note *I prefer to serve juice in interesting containers or wine glasses. It enhances the experience.

so pretty! do you juice every day? I usually just do it once a week to use up fruits that are shriveled, stems and bits that didnt get used, etc.

sarah, it would be ideal if you could juice/green drink everyday for sure. but i know it's not always easy {making the mess, having the \"fresh\" ingredients on hand, taking the time, etc.} but if those things aren't too much for you, why not!??? there is so much to benefit from it.

Can you really put a whole lime in a juicer (skin on)? I have always wanted to but did not know if it was safe for the juicer. I have the Breville juicer from Williams-Sonoma.

Emily Yeah you can put a whole lime in. I always shave off a bit of the skin though. I personally feel its takes a bit bitter. But your juicer should be able to handle it.

hanks! I am a huge an of juicing. In the past, I would just add citrus zest, but thanks for the tip of putting the whole lime in.

You have a really great blog- I am Acupuncturist; and usually fairly motivated to stay healthy because I discuss the importance of nutrition and fitness with patients on a nearly daily basis. However, I have been in a funk for the past two months. Your blog has been a major motivating factor to get me back on track. I dusted off the juicer and now my husband and I have been juicing a few times every day as well as following a super clean food plan. I am also going to start doing yoga again, today.

      So thanks! Big time.

Passion fruit water is yet another youth serum. As passion fruit is full of vitamin C, vitamin A, fiber, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and folate. These help your kidneys, nerves, muscles, and heart rhythm in big ways.
Your body uses Vitamins C to make blood vessels, cartilage, muscles, and collagen, which keeps skin looking young. It also helps your body heal, lowers inflammation, and protects your cells from damage. When you get enough vitamin C, it lowers your chances of getting colds and certain types of cancers. Vit A is great for eyes, immunity, and cells.
Note: did you know Passion Fruit is actually a berry? The biggest berry you’ll find.

If you’re not ready for change, you’re not rea
If you’re not ready for change, you’re not ready for change. And that’s perfectly ok.
Making healthy choices isn’t hard work. You “have time” to choose an apple over a bag of chips. Let’s be real here; you just DON’T WANT TO. And that alone is totally ok!!
Let’s not shame others choices or pressure another to change. If somebody is not happy where they’re at, or they are sick, or in pain, only then will they start examining their current routines and habits. Anger is a great catalysts for change. It often pushes people out if their comfort zones and into action.
I often hear “I don’t have time to be healthy”. But what that really means is I don’t want to change or I’m afraid of change. And I’m not ready. Change is what they’re nervous about - not the amount of time it takes to chop up vegetables.
Be kind to yourself…but be honest.
Notice what you say you desire (weightloss or more energy) and then really examine your habits. Do you make the choices a “thin” person makes? Do you make the choices a rested high energy person needs to make? This might seem obvious but it’s actually not…so often we overlook this gap. We don’t see it and then we get mad at ourselves. Punish ourselves for “failing” over and over again.
Once you start paying attention to your actions and habits and line them up with your goals - that’s when the magic happens.
Yay or nay?
