Product Review & Snacks For The Whole Family

So, usually when the boys dad is out of town, I go to the grocery store and get lots of fresh produce and things to make smoothies and dips and healthy meals. I get creative and think of fun crafts and adventures. But, it's been so many weeks that he has been out of town and there has been so much going on {work meetings and moving} that I have barely had time to eat, let alone grocery shop. {Let alone SLEEP. Today is my second morning waking up at 5}.

So my poor kids have been sort of lacking in the healthy home cooked/dehydrated meal department! But all things considered this week has gone pretty darn well!

Here are a few fun things I have discovered in my pantry/fridge along the way. And I just had to share that I was happily surprised at the outcome! TASTY TASTY STUFF I must admit. Not exactly raw food or even safe for the paleo diets, but a lot better than ordering out!

This Maya Kaimal curry sauce is seriously the BEST ever. It's not exactly health food but then again, minus the fact that it's not organic, it's not all that bad; made from coconut milk and healthy fats. I was sort of hesitant to try it because I had been disappointed by a few jarred indian sauces in the past. I definitely had no expectations and so I was stoked when it turned out amazing.

I put it with brown rice but you could use quinoa or even tofu or vegetables or whatever you'd like. I lightly poached and egg and threw kale chips with it. That's IT. And my kids LOVED it too.

    We were all out of breakfast foods and smoothie ingredients {so sad} so I opened up a box of this quinoa rice & shine we had in the cupboard! It was great and my kids love it. It's fairly easy to make, organic and gluten-free, which is a nice bonus. {wink}

My kids liked it topped with olive and coconut oil and coconut nectar. If you have fresh or frozen berries that would be great too.

Last but definitely not least, I've talked about this Danielle brand before because their stuff is great for kids. But I've never tried the coconut chips. The boys dad is really into them and well, I can see why!!! They are crunchy and almost taste buttery!

I would highly recommend them even though they are usually harder to find than the other flavors. You might want to special order them. I'm so glad Wes had ordered two cases of them before he left! My kids freaked over them too!

Happy weekend! Now, get out and enjoy the day!

Hi I often drop by your blog and just wanted to say firstly thanks for making this such a great resource and secondly for keeping it real. I am a mum of two boys as well and am always on the look out for great new food ideas and whilst I am in Australia and don't have access to some of the things you blog about it inspires me to create my own things for them which I blog about at Wholepromise. So glad I posted today rather than just scanning through. I should have done it ages ago.

🙋🏼‍♀️ Huge Chris Stapleton fan here. And passion fruit lover. They are in season and growing all over the place here. ⬇️
Passion fruit water is yet another youth serum. As passion fruit is full of vitamin C, vitamin A, fiber, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and folate. These help your kidneys, nerves, muscles, and heart rhythm in big ways.
Your body uses Vitamins C to make blood vessels, cartilage, muscles, and collagen, which keeps skin looking young. It also helps your body heal, lowers inflammation, and protects your cells from damage. When you get enough vitamin C, it lowers your chances of getting colds and certain types of cancers. Vit A is great for eyes, immunity, and cells.
Note: did you know Passion Fruit is actually a berry? The biggest berry you’ll find.

If you’re not ready for change, you’re not rea
If you’re not ready for change, you’re not ready for change. And that’s perfectly ok.
Making healthy choices isn’t hard work. You “have time” to choose an apple over a bag of chips. Let’s be real here; you just DON’T WANT TO. And that alone is totally ok!!
Let’s not shame others choices or pressure another to change. If somebody is not happy where they’re at, or they are sick, or in pain, only then will they start examining their current routines and habits. Anger is a great catalysts for change. It often pushes people out if their comfort zones and into action.
I often hear “I don’t have time to be healthy”. But what that really means is I don’t want to change or I’m afraid of change. And I’m not ready. Change is what they’re nervous about - not the amount of time it takes to chop up vegetables.
Be kind to yourself…but be honest.
Notice what you say you desire (weightloss or more energy) and then really examine your habits. Do you make the choices a “thin” person makes? Do you make the choices a rested high energy person needs to make? This might seem obvious but it’s actually not…so often we overlook this gap. We don’t see it and then we get mad at ourselves. Punish ourselves for “failing” over and over again.
Once you start paying attention to your actions and habits and line them up with your goals - that’s when the magic happens.
Yay or nay?
