    Peanut Butter Protein Balls

Jump to Recipe - Print Recipe

Having healthy high protein snacks on hand is a life savor, especially when they taste as good as these Peanut Butter Protein Balls. The crunchy crispy rice combined with salty-sweet peanut butter is totally satisfying. The whole family will love these little snacks, and you'll feel good knowing they are homemade and healthy.

At my house, we always tend to be rushing out the door in the morning to make it to school on time. Breakfast and snacking on the go is pretty much a daily routine at this point. It's like a scramble for something healthy; grabbing anything that's in plain sight.

That's why having this snack on hand works well around here. I personally like to eat these little peanut butter protein balls before I work out. They don’t fill me up but they give me energy from the amino acids and the carbs.

Each protein ball has more than 5 grams of protein.

This is perfect for toddlers and kids. The texture, the sweetness, and the portion size. Give them these instead of bags of cereal or packaged granola bars.

And there’s no baking required! Sounds like a perfect homemade snack to me.

What you will need for this recipe

    • Peanut Butter
    • Puffed Rice Cereal
    • Raw Honey
    • Coconut Flour
    • Vanilla Protein Powder (this is a vegan collagen I like)
    • Sea salt
    • Vanilla Bean Paste (or extract)

Peanut Butter Protein Balls Recipe Variations

This recipe is pretty good as it is. But you can definitely have fun with different spices. I would suggest trying almond butter, tahini, cashew butter or sunflower butter for those that can't do peanuts. But, I haven't tried this recipe with anything but peanut butter so far, so I can't guarantee an even swap. It's worth a try though.

Other things you can do are add spices. Try cinnamon or even pumpkin pie spice. Maybe do almond extract or mix in some coconut shreds. Try swapping chocolate puffed rice cereal, adding some chocolate chips, and using chocolate protein powder instead of vanilla for Chocolatey Peanut Butter Protein Balls.

You can make these protein balls into superfood balls instead if you'd like. Add a superfood in place of the protein. My favorites:

    • Vanilla Mushroom Adaptogen Protein
    • Chocolate Adaptogen Powder
    • Superbiome Gut Healer

I have a recipe for Tahini Cardamom Balls if you want a peanut-free recipe.

Passion fruit water is yet another youth serum. As passion fruit is full of vitamin C, vitamin A, fiber, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and folate. These help your kidneys, nerves, muscles, and heart rhythm in big ways.
Your body uses Vitamins C to make blood vessels, cartilage, muscles, and collagen, which keeps skin looking young. It also helps your body heal, lowers inflammation, and protects your cells from damage. When you get enough vitamin C, it lowers your chances of getting colds and certain types of cancers. Vit A is great for eyes, immunity, and cells.
Note: did you know Passion Fruit is actually a berry? The biggest berry you’ll find.

If you’re not ready for change, you’re not rea
If you’re not ready for change, you’re not ready for change. And that’s perfectly ok.
Making healthy choices isn’t hard work. You “have time” to choose an apple over a bag of chips. Let’s be real here; you just DON’T WANT TO. And that alone is totally ok!!
Let’s not shame others choices or pressure another to change. If somebody is not happy where they’re at, or they are sick, or in pain, only then will they start examining their current routines and habits. Anger is a great catalysts for change. It often pushes people out if their comfort zones and into action.
I often hear “I don’t have time to be healthy”. But what that really means is I don’t want to change or I’m afraid of change. And I’m not ready. Change is what they’re nervous about - not the amount of time it takes to chop up vegetables.
Be kind to yourself…but be honest.
Notice what you say you desire (weightloss or more energy) and then really examine your habits. Do you make the choices a “thin” person makes? Do you make the choices a rested high energy person needs to make? This might seem obvious but it’s actually not…so often we overlook this gap. We don’t see it and then we get mad at ourselves. Punish ourselves for “failing” over and over again.
Once you start paying attention to your actions and habits and line them up with your goals - that’s when the magic happens.
Yay or nay?
