    Banana-Free Tropical Green Smoothie

Jump to Recipe - Print Recipe

This green smoothie recipe is citrusy, very simple and basic, and it's banana-free. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE banana smoothies, but I have talked to some friends lately who are tired of having bananas in the morning. So here you go, banana-free tropical green smoothie recipe by popular request.

marble countertop with photo of green smoothie in a glass wine glass. ingredients are all around the glass.

I know it’s been a while since I have shared a recipe here on the blog. I’ve been busy selling houses and raising kids. But I’m back and feeling ready to share a few new things I have been enjoying lately. I didn’t work out at the gym during COVID lockdown so my smoothie intake was lower. But now that I’m back being active, I love my morning routines again. And loving my plant-based protein shakes, my green drinks, and my smoothies!

This banana-free tropical green smoothie recipe can also be found in my detox raw vegan ebook. It’s a very clean recipe and full of fiber. It’s hydrating and full of micronutrients necessary for glowing skin and a toned body.

Fun tip: This is how I cut my fresh ripe mangos. Feel free to buy a bunch of mangos, let them get sugary and ripe on the countertop, cut them up (as shown), and freeze them. Add to smoothies as you see fit. Also, kids LOVE frozen mango chunks as a healthy snack.

Health Benefits of the (Banana-Free) Tropical Green Smoothie

    • Coconut Water - high in antioxidants and electrolyte minerals which keep you hydrated. Some people call it Nature's Gatorade.
    • Cilantro - has been used traditionally for its anti-epileptic, anti-depressant, and anti-inflammatory effects. It's been shown as well to help raise energy levels and healthy hair and skin.
    • Spinach - high in fiber, spinach also has vitamins and minerals like vitamin E and magnesium that support your immune system.
    • Mango - shown to improvie digestion, help fight against cancer, promote good eye sight and healthy sleep. Plus they are a good source of fiber and antioxidants, including vitamin C, which means they support a healthy immune system and may fight chronic and inflammatory diseases.
    • Citrus - super high in vitamin C, citrus fruits are low in calories and have been shown to reduce the risk of kidney stones. They have been shown to boost heart health and prevent cancer.

This green smoothie recipe contains so many healthy nutrient-rich ingredients, it's worth giving it a try. You can truly feel the difference in your health after drinking it even just one time.

Passion fruit water is yet another youth serum. As passion fruit is full of vitamin C, vitamin A, fiber, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and folate. These help your kidneys, nerves, muscles, and heart rhythm in big ways.
Your body uses Vitamins C to make blood vessels, cartilage, muscles, and collagen, which keeps skin looking young. It also helps your body heal, lowers inflammation, and protects your cells from damage. When you get enough vitamin C, it lowers your chances of getting colds and certain types of cancers. Vit A is great for eyes, immunity, and cells.
Note: did you know Passion Fruit is actually a berry? The biggest berry you’ll find.

If you’re not ready for change, you’re not rea
If you’re not ready for change, you’re not ready for change. And that’s perfectly ok.
Making healthy choices isn’t hard work. You “have time” to choose an apple over a bag of chips. Let’s be real here; you just DON’T WANT TO. And that alone is totally ok!!
Let’s not shame others choices or pressure another to change. If somebody is not happy where they’re at, or they are sick, or in pain, only then will they start examining their current routines and habits. Anger is a great catalysts for change. It often pushes people out if their comfort zones and into action.
I often hear “I don’t have time to be healthy”. But what that really means is I don’t want to change or I’m afraid of change. And I’m not ready. Change is what they’re nervous about - not the amount of time it takes to chop up vegetables.
Be kind to yourself…but be honest.
Notice what you say you desire (weightloss or more energy) and then really examine your habits. Do you make the choices a “thin” person makes? Do you make the choices a rested high energy person needs to make? This might seem obvious but it’s actually not…so often we overlook this gap. We don’t see it and then we get mad at ourselves. Punish ourselves for “failing” over and over again.
Once you start paying attention to your actions and habits and line them up with your goals - that’s when the magic happens.
Yay or nay?
