Oregano Oil Wellness Shots with Turmeric & Ginger

Jump to Recipe - Print Recipe

Oregano Oil Wellness shots seem to be all the rage these days. However, not all are created equally. The only remedies I actually think work are the ones with high-quality, potent combinations using oregano oil. Oregano oil and elderberry are two of my favorite go-to remedies when I’m sick.

This oregano oil, turmeric, and ginger wellness shots are best with a citrus base. I LOVE grapefruit juice or orange/tangerine juice. But that’s just me, everybody has different preferences. I’d love to hear your favorite combinations as well. Feel free to comment below and share the wellness shot combinations you swear by. This recipe is sponsored by Vuori Clothing. In the photo above I’m wearing the Vuori Performance Jogger; I have them in 4 different colors. They are the best lounge pant ever and are very flattering which is a win-win when it comes to loungewear!

Oregano oil is my wellness shot favorite ingredient because it acts as a natural antibiotic and is a powerful antioxidant.

One older test-tube study compared the antioxidant content of 39 commonly used herbs and found that oregano had the highest concentration of antioxidants. Gram per gram, oregano also has 42 times the antioxidant level of apples and 4 times that of blueberries. This is thought to be mostly due to its rosmarinic acid content.

Because oregano oil extract is very concentrated, you need much less oregano oil to reap the same antioxidant benefits as you would from fresh oregano.

Tumeric, ginger, citrus, and black pepper also have very immune system boosting qualities. Citrus has tons of vitamin C which are great for the common cold. Black pepper is famous in the Ayurvedic community known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Interestingly, by coupling black pepper with turmeric you are enhancing the health effects of their medicinal properties as black pepper helps with the absorption of the turmeric. Or so they say.

Liquid minerals are a great addition to his shot as well. Try a dropper of Eidon immune support.

OREGANO OIL WELLNESS SHOTS WITH GINGER & TUMERIC

    Servings 1 shot

    Ingredients

    • ⅓ cup Fresh squeezed orange juice
    • 1 pinch Cracked pepper
    • ½ teaspoon Fresh ginger root juiced
    • ½ teaspoon Fresh turmeric root juiced
    • 5-6 drops Oregano oil

    Instructions

    • Combine all in a cup. Mix well. Drink quickly. Do this once a day when you start to feel sick. This isn't prevention, it's to help with minor bacterial and viral illnesses.

    Notes

It’s best to juice the ginger and turmeric in a juicer if you have one but if not, you can grate it and then push through a metal mesh strainer. I like adding liquid minerals as well. Oregano oil can be hard on the stomach so use just a drop or 2 for the kids, if at all. This isn't prevention, it's to help with minor bacterial and viral illnesses.

Passion fruit water is yet another youth serum. As passion fruit is full of vitamin C, vitamin A, fiber, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and folate. These help your kidneys, nerves, muscles, and heart rhythm in big ways.
Your body uses Vitamins C to make blood vessels, cartilage, muscles, and collagen, which keeps skin looking young. It also helps your body heal, lowers inflammation, and protects your cells from damage. When you get enough vitamin C, it lowers your chances of getting colds and certain types of cancers. Vit A is great for eyes, immunity, and cells.
Note: did you know Passion Fruit is actually a berry? The biggest berry you’ll find.

If you’re not ready for change, you’re not rea
If you’re not ready for change, you’re not ready for change. And that’s perfectly ok.
Making healthy choices isn’t hard work. You “have time” to choose an apple over a bag of chips. Let’s be real here; you just DON’T WANT TO. And that alone is totally ok!!
Let’s not shame others choices or pressure another to change. If somebody is not happy where they’re at, or they are sick, or in pain, only then will they start examining their current routines and habits. Anger is a great catalysts for change. It often pushes people out if their comfort zones and into action.
I often hear “I don’t have time to be healthy”. But what that really means is I don’t want to change or I’m afraid of change. And I’m not ready. Change is what they’re nervous about - not the amount of time it takes to chop up vegetables.
Be kind to yourself…but be honest.
Notice what you say you desire (weightloss or more energy) and then really examine your habits. Do you make the choices a “thin” person makes? Do you make the choices a rested high energy person needs to make? This might seem obvious but it’s actually not…so often we overlook this gap. We don’t see it and then we get mad at ourselves. Punish ourselves for “failing” over and over again.
Once you start paying attention to your actions and habits and line them up with your goals - that’s when the magic happens.
Yay or nay?
